Industry Veteran Leslie Gillin Shares Her Plan
March 4, 2020
In January, JPMorgan Chase & Co. named industry veteran Leslie Gillin as its chief marketing officer, with responsibility for the Chase, J.P. Morgan and corporate brands. She joined Chase three years ago after serving more than 25 years in marketing, product and business development roles at Citi, Bank of America and MBNA, including assignments in Canada and the U.K.
Gillin outlined her experiences and future plans in an interview with the Delaware Business Times. Gillin will divide her time between Delaware and Manhattan.
She said one of the challenges ahead is keeping the various JPMorgan Chase products first in customer’s attention. “A customer doesn’t look for all banking products at one time. Our credit cards or our banking products, a mortgage product, an auto product all need to show up on their own. You have to make sure that customers have a really crisp understanding of what we can bring to the table,” Gillin said.
Digital technology drives three major banking industry trends: digital transformation, brand specialization and partnerships.
